Mary Potter Hospice

The vision of Mary Potter Hospice is Making the Most of Life. We are here to provide the best quality specialist care we can to people living with a terminal illness and to give their families the support they need. Mary Potter Hospice belongs to the people of Wellington, Porirua and the Kapiti Coast. It is an integrated programme to support people and their families in their own homes, an inpatient unit in Wellington, a day facility in Paraparaumu and a palliative care facility base in Porirua.

Our services are free, thanks to the generosity of the people in the community who make donations and bequests to help meet costs. It costs around $8 million a year to run the Hospice. Just under 70% is currently funded by government, with the balance, just over $3 million, raised from the community.
